If you have been living under a rock for the past few months, Framework, a company that produces laptops and desktops with the focus of modularity, has sponsored an Linux distribution named and the famed window manager, Hyprland. Normally, I wouldn't care about nearly whatever Framework does, since they have been under fire for about two times already, for the build quality (especially the hinges), and the fact that they provide pre-built laptops with Windows. The Hyprland drama is old news, almost three years old at this point, but it still has some sort of relevance today as what not to do as an maintainer of an open-source project.
Reading the response to the Hyprland drama (at least) from the Framework CEO himself really provides an insight to why they do this, they just want to support developers and projects across the Linux ecosystem, which includes Hyprland and Omarchy. Sure, this doesn't make them any worser, but as a company that prides itself on their hardware being open-source, I could see why it would be fitting for them to sponsor open-source software, but they should look into these projects and look at previous drama to see if these sponsorships would dig up, or create new drama. Framework, as a small company, can't handle this much drama, otherwise they would collapse due to lack of sales.
I don't really have much more to say as, again, I don't really care for Framework, or drama in general.
